“ A recently disbarred LAWYER and a clever local BARTENDER talk-story and argue about the existence of a secret legendary WHISKEY emerging from nearly 100 years of Hawaiian History “
02 - Synopsis
Wesley is in the bar.
Reggie is his bartender.
Reggie hands Wesley a glass and tells him the liquor inside is actually the world’s most expensive Whiskey.
Wesley doesn’t believe him.
Reggie then tells Wesley about the “history” of the legendary Whiskey. Starting with King Kalākaua’s voyage circumnavigating the globe - going through:
- The illegal overthrow of the Hawaiian Monarchy,
- 1920’s prohibition
- 1940’s wartime
- 1960’s hippie communes
- 1990’s Japanese Tourism
- To the present day
Wesley, after hearing this is still incredulous.
When grilled by Reggie about why he is so sure, Wesley then shares his story.
Earlier, him and his two friends (Trisha and Fred) went on a treasure hunt and discovered the EXACT Whiskey that Reggie was talking about. After discovering the whiskey and a brief physical altercation between Westley and Fred, the three friends met up with a mysterious dealer to sell their find. They then split the money and went about their way.
Wesley deduces that because him and his friends found the real deal, it could not possibly be in the bar.
Reggie posits the question one more time - “are you sure this can’t be the legendary whiskey?”
Wesley replies, with some witty snark and then leaves the bar.
Before the film ends, the audience then sees the true secret.
Reggie was the one behind the buyer.
The Whiskey was real all along.
